Sri Lanka "The Pearl of the Indian Ocean"


DAY - 1
Day 1

Reception by the local Sri Lankan tour guide. Trip to Pinnawela and visit the "Elephant Orphanage" where motherless elephants found to be reared. Then we'll be travelling through various landscape (rice fields, rivers and mountains typical formations). Afternoon one hour elephant safari is planned through the jungle.

DAY - 2
Day 2

Today visit the oldest royal city of Anuradhapura , It is a World Heritage Site from the 11th century. Here is the oldest historically documented tree in the world, the tallest stupa of the Buddhist faith or even many stone sculptures of Buddha. An artificial lake was created and many other worth seeing. After lunch we are looking Polonnaruwa, the second oldest imperial city of Sri Lanka . It was built from the 11th to the 13th century and is today recognized as a World Heritage Site. The city is known for its large Buddha statues, palace, temples, and for the man-made royal bathing pond. After a woodcarving shop (carvings from teak, mahogany, etc.) proceed to hotel.

DAY - 3
Day 3

After breakfast there is an excursion to the rock fortress of Sigiriya. The oldest palace built in the 5th century, is famous for its frescoes and over 800 graffiti, including the famous “Cloud Damsels”. Afterwards we drive to Kandy, the last capital of the Sinhala kings. Along the way you will see the Dambulla cave temple and a spice and herbel garden. In Kandy, we visit the “Temple of the Sacred Tooth” (tooth of Buddha) and experience the Kandy dance (including fire eaters and dancing on hot coals).

DAY - 4

We will visit on this day, a silk shop (T-shirts, shirts, trousers, saris and sarongs). It is followed by a walk through the Botanical Gardens in Kandy.  Then we leave the level and go to the mountains of Sri Lanka. We drive through the middle of tea plantations. There you can see the crop through the tea pluckers and you can visiy a tea factory. Continue to mist-shrouded mountains and past waterfalls until we reach an altitude of 1884 m Nuwara Eliya.

DAY - 5

About serpentines further south. Today our goal is the Yala National Park. In the afternoon we'll do the jeep safari. The Yala National Park is the most famous and oldest nature reserve. In the southeast of the island is located on the territory of the southern province of about 1500 km ² National Park.

DAY - 6

Morning we drive towards Galle. Here you will visit the historic fortifications (World Heritage Site). After that We'll visit moon stones mines (semi-precious stones). The following is a boat safari on the Maadu River. Then you'll turtle hatchery know. Here also sick and injured animals are cared for.

Then we bring it to the desired hotel on the coast or to the Colombo airport.
